Jane qualified with an Honours Degree in Occupational Therapy in 2005 from the University of Cape Town, South Africa. Initially, she worked within the Forensic Mental Health system in the Western Cape, delivering tailored interventions to adult and adolescent clients, within both private and state-funded domains, sourcing employment opportunities and enabling community re-integration.

Jane then moved to the United Kingdom, and worked within a community setting, providing support for adult clients in their own homes. Adaptations, reports, advice and major works assessments were part of the role, and client-centred interventions, focusing on immediate needs as well as long term therapy input, were provided.

She then moved into the field of community Palliative Care, where home visits and swift environmental adaptations and therapy

interventions were required.

Having worked closely with the relevant Social Services Teams, Jane has a good understanding of local eligibility criteria and the services and adaptations available to clients.

Following this Jane started work in the community hospitals sector, where she gained experience working with adult trauma patients, focusing her energies on Orthopaedics, A&E, Medical Admissions, Adult Rehabilitation, Falls and the Intermediate

Care Therapies directorate.

Jane has worked as a Disability Assessor, completing assessments with clients who have applied for the Personal Independence Payment benefit. She has compiled concise reports for the Department of Work and Pensions following assessment of clients with both mental health and physical impairments.

In 2016 Jane joined Green Owl Therapy for independent Case Management and OT work with adults covering Staffordshire, The Midlands and surrounding areas.

Kirsty qualified in 1990 as a Registered General Nurse from Foresterhill College of Nursing and Midwifery in Aberdeen. She practised general nursing. Following this Kirsty held a variety of nursing positions both in acute and rehabilitation settings.

Kirsty became a Case Manager in 2001 working for the government accident compensation scheme in New Zealand.  She managed a portfolio of clients with severe brain injury, spinal cord injury and severe paediatric injury; this included cerebral palsy and child abuse claims. Her role progressed to include service delivery management, managing a team of Case Managers.

Returning to the UK in 2007, she has continued as a Case Manager for adults with brain injury, spinal injury and poly-trauma injuries. She is also experienced in the management of young adults and adults who have cerebral palsy. She undertakes Initial Needs Assessments on a joint or single instruction basis. She provides a comprehensive case management service, implementing and coordinating rehabilitation to meet the injury-related needs of the client.

Kirsty has worked as a Care Expert since 2017.

In 2018 Kirsty joined Green Owl Therapy as a Case Manager covering Lincolnshire, Yorkshire, Nottinghamshire, Derbyshire, Leicestershire, Cambridgeshire and Norfolk.

Amanda qualified as an occupational therapist in 2003 with an Honours degree from the University of Derby. She has gained many years of experience both as a clinician and a manager, working within the NHS and privately managing complex cases.

Amanda has worked in acute and outpatient settings within the local authority and in the independent sector. She is experienced in carrying out Immediate Needs Assessments and has extensive knowledge of the welfare benefits system. She is skilled in the completion of applications for funding care packages either via the Local Authority, Continuing Healthcare and Individual Funding Requests. She has a sound working knowledge of the Mental Capacity Act and has a good understanding of Deprivation of Liberty Safeguards. She regularly participates in best interest meetings to advocate but also to ensure the least restrictive option is considered for clients who lack capacity.

She has helped to develop a rehabilitation service for clients with a wide range of neurological and progressive conditions. Amanda specialises in working with clients with traumatic brain injuries to facilitate and coordinate services in a timely manner to maximise the clients’ potential for rehabilitation.

Amanda’s confident approach helps to establish a professional relationship with the client and their families and carers, providing advice, education and emotional support.

Amanda is an active member of the local Headway charity and has been a trustee there for many years, supporting it’s continued development, with a specific interest in governance and training.

In 2019 Amanda joined Green Owl Therapy as a Case Manager, covering the East Midlands.

Marie graduated from Sheffield Hallum University in 2002 with BA Hons in Business studies.

After graduating Marie worked across a number of industries including The FA Cup, leisure/hospitality and Further/Higher education. Her work was predominantly within Marketing, from assistant to manager roles.

Marie has a wealth of experience, spanning across the administration of local education and learning courses to planning major televised events. She always has an ability to adapt to any situation and requirement with her can do, personable attitude.

In recent years Marie has focused more on the planning/administration side of work predominantly on an individual, one to one basis.  Work undertaken has been varied ranging from organising international travel and accommodation, to sourcing and organising recruitment of tradespeople and even

animal care provision.

Away from work Marie continues to utilise her organisational and marketing skills by co-running a ladies running club.

In 2019 Marie joined Green Owl Therapy as office administrator, and she provides assistance and administrative support to the case managers.
